Petection Antiseptic/Zone of Inhibition Testing

Testing was conducted in triplicate using a broth culture of Porphyromonas species. Using a sterile swab, the suspension was applied to surfaces of agar media supportive of anaerobic growth.Wells were created in the agar plates where a sample of the antiseptic gel, with a volume of .098mm3 or approximately 100μl, was injected. Following both 24 and 48 hours of incubation at 30 +/- 2°C, zones of inhibition, if any, were measured via microcalipers.

Zone of Inhibition at 24 hours against Porphyromonas species

Testing performed by an independent lab.Testing performed by an independent lab.

Porphyromonas species were exposed to the test material for the proposed time intervals of 0, 30 seconds, 1, 5, 15, and 30 minutes. At the end of each exposure period, an appropriate neutralizing agent was used to quench the antimicrobial activity. Microorganisms before and after the treatment were counted to determine the antimicrobial activity of the test product, expressed in log 10 eduction format. Samples were plated on anerobic agar after each time point to establish the
survival counts.
